technical difficulties!

for some inexplicable reason, I can't load my blog.  I can get into the back end and create this post, for example, and a call to tech support reveals that my service provider can load no problem.

In any case...apologies for all the silence from my end...trying to figure this out...stay tuned...

small update: these problems began when I uploaded the fridge slime photo.  Creepy.  In any case, I am using this post to claim my blog on technorati, and will get back in here as soon as I can.

Computers. Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em. I go to work for 5 hours working on routers, then I take a 2-hour class on network security in the evening, and I come home to find one of my friends has called because he got a new wireless access point and his network has gone kaput. At least I'm not carting my 25 pound computer around on my back on a motorcycle. (Which might have been an improvement, as on my first day at the new job, my car got backed into in the parking lot.)

As a former Major Computer Corporation technical support representitave, I can authoritavely say that if you jiggle the kajigger with the thingamajig, it should work.

If not, we'll just have to send the problem to Level 2 where they make up neater words. ;)

I was going to make a witty comment about Level3 breaking the internet in Oct. 2005, but I didn't want to sound like I didn't know what you meant by "Level 2," because how dare I not know!

And now for something completely different, my girlfriend does a near perfect Lisa Ruddy-style "Heeeey Moosie!"

Christine are you now working on the Crunch program. I admit I like in a place where I cannot get it but I am still curious.

I just found an interesting link: http://www.nickclassics.com/store/product.php?productid=21802
Seems the YCDTOTV box set is now available.

Thanks for being online. Look forward to following your blog.

I just bought a MacBook, I think I'm going to go record a podcast in GarageBand with the metronome on using the built-in microphone! I kid of course, although I miss the podcasts, and am grateful for the blog. A plague on your service provider! ...okay, maybe just a mild sneezing fit. Plague is so 14th century.

Hello, Moose. From what I've seen, this blog is well worth the wait. If it is any consolation, you're a more regular blogger than I am. It is a task fitting time in for a blog, so rest assured any attempt at regularity is noteworthy.

well, I'm sneaking in at work to say, thanks for your patience. This all started with the slime post. I even claimed this blog on technorati and everything after the slime post...including this post...doesn,t hit the feed. Weird. Will work on it this weekend.

    Christine -

Glad to know you're still out there after the podcast silence. Do post one now and then if you can, but don't kill yourself by vowing regularity. Just good hearing your delivery.

    Hi Christine,

Hope you get your computer problems straightened out. You probably don't remember me but I used to hang around the station watching tapings and trying to hammer out skits on Roger's typewriter. When I first showed up at the station with my portfolio, you were the one to come out and look them over for me. I'm convinced that if it hadn't been for you, I would have missed out on what was probably the most enjoyable experience of my childhood.

Glad to see you're still accessible.

    All the best,

    Hey Moose!

OMG! I just found this site after doing a search for 1980's Nick shows! I watched as often as I could back then. I remember when Double Dare started and I saw the slime. It reminded me of this show and my first thought was "why did they even try to copy like that?"

It's great to see you here and see that the gang is still around! I'll visit often, promise!

I used to watch you back in the day (and yeah, I guess I may have inadvertently dated myself with that comment. Oh well.), and am amused and pleased to see that you have a blog. Very cool! Just wanted to say hi, and all that fun stuff...and of course to hope that your blog issues are resolved; I know how fun that can be. I run my own blogsite (powered on GreyMatter), and uh well...I'll just leave it as saying it's been educational to do so.
Keep up all the fabulous work; I'm adding your blog into my RSS reader:)

Just wanted to let you know that I think it's awesome that you're doing this blog. I'm 28 years old now, and watching YCDTOTV was a staple of my childhood. I can still remember the theme song in my head, and remember you hosting the show. Reading the comments from your blog for me is a way to reconnect with my youth. Someone left a comment here saying that being on your blog is just like taking to an old friend. Even though I'm an American from New Jersey who's never met you in person, I have to agree, it sure does feel that way.

Best to you and your family, and I'm glad to see you stayed in the field of children's programming. Carry on.

Gah. Blogs. Whadda pain. I got out of the tech industry to avoid stuff like this.

On the upside, I'm happy to have found your site! I was a huge fan of YCDTOTV, back in the early 80s. Moose was always my favorite character - the only one who seemed to actually know what was going on! Anyway, have fun, be well, and thanks for all the great memories.

First let me say I'm honored to be able to chat with someone I watched on tv growing up. I don't have a question for you, however I would like to thank you for being there to entertain me every day after school. I remember the first time I turned on Nick, it was on a weekday during summer break. We had just gotten cable for the first time, and I was scanning the channels. Ironically YCDTOT was on, I must have watched that show untill it finally went off the air. I never missed it and of all the char's you were one of my favorites. Your battles with Ross always had me rolling. Oh and the Archie Bunker father char he played was priceless. Makes you wonder if Al Bundy from Married with Children didn't maybe come from that sketch. Last but not least and not to make you blush but when I watched the show back then I had a huge crush on you. I'm sure alot of young boys did come to think of it. Well again thank you and I wish you the best in all that you do.

God Bless you and your family
    your friend Kicker
